Kanan Jarrus' Lightsaber - Modified
thingiverse
First off, I'm sorry about the flipped image, no matter what I do, it keeps displaying as upside down. I liked the design of this lightsaber (more so than classic styles) so I decided to create one. I've always wanted to make one, so here we are. I couldn't get the back grip inserts to print correctly, more a fault in my printer's software than anything, so I decided to wrap the handle in strips of foam under furniture padding. I also redesigned the pommel because I wasn't quite happy with the original. The grate on the top of the power block printed out flat, so I widened the powerblock so that it wouldn't overhang. I also made a different version of the arrow buttons on the side of the powerblock - as the original ones are just triangles that are supposed to slide in, I redesigned them to clip into the slot and sit on top of the block to make them more pronounced, so they look like real buttons. The print was filled in with spot putty, sanded, primed, painted with a mix of spray paints and rub 'n' buff (silver leaf), buffed, and then sealed with polyurethane spray.
