Masked Rider Black, also known as Kamen Rider Black RX in Japan, is a top-rated tokusatsu superhero drama television series. The eighth and most critically acclaimed installment of the Kamen Rider Series, Masked Rider Black is an Ishimori Productions-Toei production that first aired on Mainichi Broadcasting System and Tokyo Broadcasting System from October 4 to October 9 in 1987. Over a successful one-year period, fifty-one action-packed episodes thrilled audiences with its engaging dramatic plotline. As Kamen Rider Black RX had become one of the highest-grossing installments among all Japanese TV shows by late-1988, and also highly regarded in many other countries that aired it, many have declared Masked Rider Black as a classic TV show.
