KALLAX Book Ends

KALLAX Book Ends

thingiverse

We've created some simple bookends for our KALLAX shelf to keep our daughter's books from falling off or tipping over. These bookends were designed with safety in mind, and they're easy to use - just attach them using the existing screws and hardware, and they'll provide a sturdy base. One thing to note is that the design isn't perfect; if you want to prevent the bookends from rotating, you need to tighten the screws against their mounting points. This can cause some warping of the material due to the pressure from the screw, and it's also easy to create cracks between the screw holes and the supports. Despite these issues, the design prints quickly, and we hope that others will be able to improve on our design. Printer Settings Printer Brand: Wanhao Printer Model: Wanhao Duplicator i3 V2 Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: Doesn't Matter Resolution: .15mm Infill: 10% Notes: We've found that printing at a build plate temperature of 64 degrees F gives us better consistency. The default temperature is 60 degrees F, but other than that, the printer seems to print quickly and consistently. If you're using Cura with "Low Quality" settings, try adjusting the build plate temp to 64 degrees F for even better results.
