Kaleidocycle Free 3D print model

While conducting research, I stumbled upon www.protolabs.com - an invaluable resource for learning about injection molding. They also offer rapid prototyping of injection molded and machined parts. As a perk, they sent over some free goodies, including their "Protogami"(tm) "A Proto Labs Kaleidocycle". This 3D puzzle showcases six different materials in four unique finishes and spins around in an entertaining way. If you visit www.protomold.com, you can request one of their "Protomold's Protomodle" puzzles for free. My take on the "Protogami"(tm) is a custom 3D printed model that can't be disassembled, making it perfect for testing out various printing settings and material combinations. I'm planning to give it a try soon, but theoretically, there should be enough clearance for it to work as intended. The hinges can also be modified to allow individual parts to be printed separately and assembled later on. Check out the SW2012 zip files in the post to see how the mates interact. To make the puzzle more engaging, I'd love to add some animation, so feel free to share any ideas you might have if you take on this challenge.
