Kaleidocycle
thingiverse
A kaleidocycle comprises a series of interconnected tetrahedra that can rotate within itself through its center point. Observe this video (not mine) demonstrating its movement: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4owFczeqqMQ. However, the successful printing of this design requires high-resolution printers as regular ones may struggle with the intricate hinges. It is hoped that a modified version with printer-friendly hinge dimensions can be developed in the future. Initially, I attempted to print one tetrahedron segment, but my printer's resolution was insufficient for the required hinge detail. Consequently, when I combined all six segments together, hoping the shared hinges would provide support, they instead bonded solidly. One of these linked tetrahedra is distinguished by an inverted hinge to ensure proper connection with the others.
