Kalam is a cutting-edge writing tool designed specifically for children struggling with motor skills, empowering them to draw and write independently. Ten-year-old Raman, a bright student at the Cerebral Palsy Care Center, stands out from his peers due to his exceptional cognitive abilities, making formal education a real possibility. However, his motor skills deficiency hinders writing without relying on his neck's support. With Kalam, Raman writes more efficiently, freeing his hands from needing neck assistance. This innovative tool has the potential to significantly impact Raman's educational trajectory. The primary objective of this project is to create a functional grip that addresses the unique motor difficulties faced by children like Raman, enabling them to write and draw independently. In contrast to conventional handles available in the market, Kalam focuses on the dorsal part of the hand, preventing limb contraction and making drawing/writing activities highly effective in both school and home environments. Kalam draws inspiration from the Glifo Writing Tool, but with a key difference: it is adjustable both vertically and horizontally, significantly expanding its usability scope.
