Kailh Choc Switch Plate with Hotswap Sockets
prusaprinters

I wanted a plate to put Kailh Choc switches and hotswap sockets into for a small project with a Raspberry Pi, but I couldn't find anything that suited my needs. I love mechanical switches and hope to use them in many projects requiring buttons, so this model should be helpful going forward. For this particular project, the switches are space for 1.5u - 1u - 1.5u key caps, but you can adjust that to suit your needs.

I printed with support for the hotswap sockets and was able to easily remove the supports with a utility knife. I blocked supports for the lip the switch connects to, which is why PrusaPrinters' rendering of the model looks weird above.

I haven't soldered the hotswap sockets yet, but I expect I'll need to do that before inserting them into the plate in order to avoid melting the PLA.

I may need to adjust some dimensions as time goes on, we'll see. If you need to adjust things yourself, I've attached the Fusion360 f3d file (beware, it's my first real Fusion360 project so it's a bit of a mess).
