Kagutsuchi is the son of Izanami and Izanagi, the creator gods of Japanese mythology, at the time of his birth he burned his mother by accident which results in her death, his father blinded by the hatred and sadness of losing Izanami, cuts Kagutsuchi into eight pieces and spreads them across Japan, forming the eight volcanoes, even in pieces he remains alive, becoming known as the god of fire.
