The ESP32 is a powerful and versatile microcontroller that can handle a wide range of tasks, including radio reception and playback. In addition to the ESP32 and VS1053b chip, you'll also need an OLED display to show the radio's interface and information. I recommend getting a 128x64 OLED display with a 0.96" screen size, which is available on AliExpress at https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32828021239.html. To control the radio, you'll need an encoder module that can read button presses and send signals to the ESP32. I recommend getting an encoder module from AliExpress at https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32527999742.html. For audio output, you'll need a good quality amplifier board. While I initially tried using an amplifier board from AliExpress (https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32784198988.html), it didn't work for me, so I ended up using a different one available at https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32574110297.html.
