K8400 power switch housing
thingiverse
This remix adds features not found in the original h60 model. A detachable power plug, fuse, and switch provide greater safety and comfort compared to a non-detachable power cable. I also required additional space inside my redesign for housing a small Power Supply Unit with my LED strip. However, the original's design limitations made it hard to fit the PSU. A sufficient area within my remix model accommodates not just the power socket but other devices as well. Always keep in mind to isolate 230V power lines properly and avoid any proximity with low voltage cables or electronics stored inside. You must utilize the included inlay part as indicated - warnings apply. Mounting this housing on your left printer side should work smoothly; to mount it on the right, though, you would need to flip both the base and the lid parts upside down. Be sure to take a look at "Velleman Vertex K8400 Mainboard fan ducky 80mm" as shown at http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:921191. It features quiet fans without any noticeable sound emission. If you're feeling adventurous, consider fine-tuning the design using Sketchup software for added customization options - more room could be made available, other connectors could be installed, etc. To mount the unit successfully on the left side of your printer, don't forget to make a hole that is approximately 47 by 28 mm big. You can actually determine the best place for this particular opening at the moment you go through with mounting - doing so makes it much simpler. Also note that if clutter beneath your printer has always been an issue in your life or even worse: a fire, then worry less. Safety will most definitely have increased after this simple installation procedure! In hindsight perhaps powering your LED strip straight from the PSU would indeed make sense and possibly be recommended but is directly possible with an available adapter, also since I did say your LED lights were just 12 volts at that time
