Excellent design by sneakypoo, well done! Thanks a million for this remix. It seamlessly integrates into my Vertex K8400 printer without any modifications or extra hardware needed - except for one small M3x12 screw/bolt to secure it in place. Just like the original, it lets me switch between different spool sizes. Printers often produce hole sizes that are too narrow, so you might need to resize these parts a bit. To make them fit properly, ensure that ball bearings can slip inside the core and core threads can screw into nut threads without issues. I upped the core part by 3% in both X and Y directions and tweaked the nut part by 5% as well. However, make sure the Z-direction size adjustments match for both parts or the threads might bind tightly together. My printer might need tweaking; do a test print around 10mm high to verify that parts aren't too loose or tight before embarking on the long print. Wish I'd done that before starting mine - supplied STL files haven't been resized either. The included M3x12 screw holds the core snugly in place. Alternatively, a toothpick and some glue might also do the trick. Print Settings Rafts: Doesn't matter. Supports: No. Resolution: 0.2. Infill: 10-15%. Notes: To print the core part effectively, I recommend going with the "mushroom style", printing from pointy end down. There's one flat horizontal surface inside, and that needs to face downwards. Although possible, I haven't tested it; still try that if you're unsure! A small brim definitely helps - 10mm seemed ideal in my case.
