K8200 Z Axis upgrade
thingiverse
I swapped out the factory screw for the Z axis and mounted my Z motor to the top when I upgraded to a leadscrew. Additionally, I replaced the bearings on the Z axis with longer ones to boost stability. In doing so, I created larger holders for these bearings. Use this as you see fit, though some holes may require sanding and drilling to smooth them out, and the kit fits perfectly on my machine. You can choose to leave the long bearing holders intact or cut away the weak parts in the middle to expose the central hub. Do what suits your needs best... I employed a bearing at the bottom of the rod to alleviate pressure from the entire rig onto the motor bearings. The lower section also features a holder for an additional bearing if your lead screw is longer than mine.
