K8200 Micrometric Z home switch
thingiverse
Drawing inspiration from two Thingiverse designs, I combined elements to create my own custom solution. Cura was used for slicing due to Slic3r's inner diameter bug. A critical area required printing without support material (see picture). Depending on your chosen slicer, you may need support material. The micrometer cost just €5 on eBay, while smaller screws typically cost around 25€ or more; however, mine was not of the best quality. The mounting hole for the fixing screw was off by 90° but still functional. In Designspark and Cura, the hole is correctly displayed. For assembly, you'll need two M3x20 screws with nuts for the switch, one M3 screw for attaching the micrometre, and an M4 screw (ideally with grip profile) after Z setup. Required parts include a new z-Motor Holder for Velleman K8200 or 3Drag (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:144813). Using Cura as the recommended slicer, ensure an infill of at least 40%. Clip the mounting correctly to match the 3mm thickness of the Z-Axis support sheet and use the original screw for fixing. Rotate the micrometer by 90° for optimal angle.
