A third of the air flows directly to the extruder nozzle, while the remaining two-thirds passes by the extruder's insulator/heatsink. This setup yields better PLA results than conventional methods, but has not been tried with other filaments. Some claim that blowing air on the nozzle isn't necessary. The design hasn't been tested with E3D heatsink-type extruders, which may have different dimensions compared to stock models. It should work with the extruder found at http://k8200.jimdo.com/extruder/.
