K8200 / 3Drag left z axis bearing alignment block
thingiverse
This modification enhances the z-axis bearing alignment by automating a process previously requiring manual adjustments of the original bearing holders. Initially, I found that horizontal adjustment resulted in insufficient play, causing excessive tension on vertical rods. This new design can accommodate both 10mm linear ball bearings (LM10UU) and drylin bearings for optimal functionality. In practice, the ball-bearing setup proved superior for the left z-axis. Note: A crucial consideration is that this block lacks a hole for the Z stop screw; however, a simple solution is to attach it to the nearest bolt hole using a longer bolt. In assembly, ensure the bearings fit snugly without clips or other fasteners. If slight looseness occurs, applying glue tape or a drop of glue should resolve the issue and provide a secure fit.
