k8200 3drag extruder inlay rework for E3D Hotends and flexible filament
thingiverse
VERSION 3 NOW AVAILABLE! My K8200 printing Ninjaflex at 75mm/s :http://youtu.be/XuT9ZwJzAuw I revised the outer filament feeder bracket for enhanced printing with flexible filaments. Also works great with PLA, ABS and other filaments too. The part includes a connector for E3D hotends with direct coupling. Just print it out, slide your hotend in and secure it with the clamp. The part has precise tolerances! Print with 0.2 mm layer height maximum and at least 60% infill. I included the updated 123D Design files as well, just in case you want to modify something further. Suggestions for improvements are always welcome. After more test prints i upgraded the part again to achieve better results. I shifted the filament feeder hole 0.8mm closer towards the hobbed bolt and added a tapered entrance for the filament to minimize drag. I also included an attachable "cover" filament guide to keep the filament straight in the center of the extruder. Instructions I modified the part again after further test prints yielded even better results. I moved the filament feeder hole 0.8mm closer towards the hobbed bolt and added a tapered entrance for the filament to reduce drag even more efficiently. I also included a removable attachable "cover" on the filament guide that will keep the filament perfectly straight in the center of the extruder. The part remains very precise, don't forget it! Print with 0.2 mm layer height maximum and at least 70% infill now. Printing 100% infill could lead to even less warping while cooling. You can use ABS, but PLA is sufficient because the mount of the hotend won't get heated up during operation. Lay your main part on its side when printing with the opening of the hotend mount facing upwards. Ensure you drill the filament feeder hole down at least 3.5mm as I suggested before for precise diameter and smooth walls. The first Extruder mount may require some pressure initially, slide it in all the way then screw tighten it evenly to have a silky feel going into place smoothly! If the filament guide will not snap into position easily, just heat up the guide piece lightly with a small flame, once done attach and fasten.
