The conventional mounting approach for the Velleman K8200 electronics board is highly vulnerable and precarious. The board is secured by two screws that traverse the edge of the board, making it extremely susceptible to catastrophic failure if subjected to even minimal impact. To circumvent this glaring flaw, I devised an ingenious mount that provides rock-solid stability and reassurance. The mount is rigidly anchored to the printer frame via a traditional combination of square nuts and M5 bolts. Four strategically positioned M3 bolts are then employed to firmly fasten the electronics board to the mount, resulting in a sturdy and dependable installation. To simplify the printing process, I opted to segment the mount into two easily printable components: a mounting plate and a rail. The rail snugly fits between the plate and the aluminium frame, imparting vital stability to the assembly. Remarkably, there is no need for adhesives since the M5 mounting bolts provide adequate grip. In my trial fitment of the board, I had to utilize 25mm long M3 bolts due to the absence of suitable alternatives at the time. While they did suffice, I believe 15mm bolts would have been the ideal choice. To guarantee the stability of the mounting plate, it's essential to print it with a substantial infill setting - ideally in the range of 70-75%. This will imbue the component with sufficient robustness to support even the most vigorous usage.
