K40 Laser Motorized Z and Profile Rotary
thingiverse
I'm excited to share with you my latest creation - a unique remix of two popular projects for the K40 Laser: Motorized Z-Bed and Rotary Lower Profile. This combination offers users multiple accessory options that will take their laser cutting experience to the next level. By relocating the motor to the outside of the lower frame, I was able to create enough space to install the Rotary Profile with ease. This modification has opened up a world of possibilities for users who want to add more functionality to their K40 Laser setup. On the Rotary Profile, I added an aluminum "L" bracket that attaches securely to the upper Z-frame. This allows for smooth and precise rotation of the profile, making it easier to access even the most intricate cuts. But that's not all - there are many other options available on this modified setup. When you remove the Rotary Profile from the upper Z-frame, you can install a removable net or a nail bed. These accessories provide additional functionality and flexibility for users who want to explore different applications with their laser cutter. Update: October 7th, 2019 - I've discovered that using small aluminum tips can be used to secure objects in place on the original bed. This is a great alternative to traditional clamps or holders, and it's another example of how this remix project has expanded the possibilities for K40 Laser users.
