K40 Laser Laptop Fan Air Assist with Spacers
thingiverse
I liked WayofWood's Air Assist and I wanted to modify it to fit a fan that I ripped out of an old broken laptop, giving new life to discarded parts. Using the original nozzle as a starting point, I made the back a bit wider and added some air channels between the fan and the laser post for improved airflow. My laser was firing a little high so I added some support arms and a spacer to raise the x-gantry to the right height, ensuring precise control over my laser's beam. I also created a version without these arms in case your laser's x-gantry is already at the optimal height, providing flexibility for different setups. Since I ended up using a different air assist, this design remains untested by me, but I'm sharing it on Thingiverse just in case someone else wants to give it a try and put it to use.
