K40 LED work piece alignment tool. After printing a different unit where it's on the table side of the K40 laser and gets in the way of the drag chain, I decided to make it for the opposite side of the back wall. I also used a magnet from an old hard drive. I have a lot of hard drives from a server farm to get parts from. But you could modify the unit to use any other magnets that are available. I printed in ABS as this is my filament of choice. For fun, I did it at 0.1mm layer thickness and 20% fill. I found that I had to drill out the LED holes to allow them to be pushed through. This makes me think my printer needs to be calibrated again. The unit I built has two circuits with four LEDs per circuit powered with twelve volts DC. The four LEDs are in series with approximately thirty-four ohm half-watt resistors for the last voltage drop required to be used with the 12 VDC that I applied. I hot glued the magnet in place to keep it from shifting. It works great for me. I started with this: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3408224
