K40 Honeycomb Laser Bed

K40 Honeycomb Laser Bed

thingiverse

This project aims to create individual components that can be assembled to support a motorized, honeycomb z-bed designed specifically for the common K40 laser cutter using a Makerbot Replicator 2 with high-speed PLA printing. Currently, only the parts necessary for supporting the bottom of the bed have been developed, while those needed to support the sides are still in development. Given that PLA is not immune to laser damage even at low power settings like those found on cheap 40W lasers, I advise users to exercise caution when working with this design. It remains in its early stages and is subject to change, so I'm posting it here primarily for easy access across multiple computers.
