K40 CO2 Laser Lid/Cover handle (with switch notch)
thingiverse
I grabbed two old LED strips from Costco that were collecting dust and decided to repurpose them as interior lighting for my laser engraver. I attached a switch to the top of one of the strips, but I needed something to trigger it when the cover was closed so my DSP AWC608 would know it's safe to fire up the laser. To achieve this, I designed a handle that not only gives the case a sleeker look but also provides a notch to press the switch. You might need to fine-tune the smaller piece to fit your specific setup, but this is a quick print job and you can iterate through a few versions until it fits perfectly.
