K40 (and others!!) Chinese Laser Air Assist Nozzle
thingiverse
I Designed this Nozzle in OpenSCAD with Parametric Options. It's meant to be Printed Without Any Support, so the Air Tube Rests on the Bed, With its Top Connection. Using a 40mm diameter Tube Works Perfectly Over the Surface I'm Cutting. The Angle of the Tubing Directs the Air Towards the Laser Hole in the Center. Note: If You Want, You Can Thicken the Walls a Little Bit, But this Nozzle Was Designed to Handle 1/4 inch ID and 5/16 OD Hoses without any Problems. The Interior Tube is Made with Back Pressure to Give Even Air Distribution Through the Tubing. However, If You Increase the Tube Size or Wall Thickness, Make Sure it Slices Properly, as Thin Walls can Create an Invisible Air Gap After Printing. Note: Just to Be Clear, There's No Air Coming from the Center Hole - that's actually the Laser Hole! Video of the Air Assist Nozzle Blowing Through the Nozzle: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cMXoxe-sKps When Making a New Part, Ensure the Sides are Thick Enough to Hold the Size of the Tubes Running Through the Nozzle. It's Meant to be Printed without Any Support, but Some Light Sanding is Required as it Prints Slightly Smaller than the K40 Laser Tip. I Used a Dremel to Grind Down the Interior Surface a Bit.
