K40 Air Assist with Lens Protektion
thingiverse
Never cut without air! This air assist works pretty well. Because of the long air guide, the amount of air is reduced and the cut depth can be much bigger. But important is to always turn on the air supply. Otherwise, it will overheat and light up - happened several times to me. If you engrave some wood it is better to turn the air supply off, because the air assist will blow the dirt out of the engraving point and it will result in deposits around your lines. But you can only do this for small engraving jobs. If you engrave a lot in one job, it will light up. The best constellation is to bring the tip of the air assist as close as possible to the wood. So you will get a much better cut. To seal it with the lens, I use a rubber band in the right diameter which is put between the air assist and the aluminium lens holder. It is important to fix it with a zip tie because after one day the print will lose its stiffness. It is not perfect yet but I'm a little proud on this peace.
