K40 Air Assist Nozzle
thingiverse
This is the air assist nozzle I utilize with my K40 laser cutter. The design was conceived in OpenSCAD and I have included the OpenSCAD file that can be modified to suit individual needs. The coiled hose and fitting I employed are listed below for reference. To attach the hose to the nozzle, a specific fitting is required, which comes equipped with a barb on the fitting. In order to use this fitting with the hose, it's essential to cut off the barb using a utility knife. This process is not complicated due to the plastic nature of the fitting. I used a 1/8 NPT pipe thread tap (readily available at most hardware stores) to create threads in the plastic for the fitting. These threads enable secure attachment of the hose to the nozzle. Self-Retracting Polyurethane Tubing Abrasion Resistant, Opaque Yellow, 5/32" ID, 10 Feet Long McMaster Part: 9148T122 Super-Flow Barbed Fitting for Food & Beverage Plastic Adapter, for 5/32" Tube ID x 1/8 NPT Male McMaster Part: 2808K23 I utilize an aquarium air pump as my air supply (110 L/min , 1750-GPH) for optimal performance.
