A custom U-Shroud Parts Cooling Fan Mount for the He3D K280 Mega Delta and other similar RepRap 3D Printers, designed to be light, durable, and highly efficient, can be created using 20mm slotted extrusions. The design effectively cools the part with minimal interference on the nozzle and no hindrance to the effector's full travel. It is engineered to securely mount an ultra-thin 24-volt 40mm square blower fan behind the cooling block of the hot-end, utilizing M2 screws in threaded holes at each corner of the mount. Moreover, the design leverages four existing threaded M3 holes in the cooling block itself to assemble the unit. The part can be easily manufactured using a modern and affordable 3D Printer without requiring any support materials. It can be printed with various materials such as PETG, ABS, and other heat-resistant printable materials. ABS is highly recommended for this application due to its excellent performance under high temperatures. PETG can also work well but has not been extensively tested. Using PLA to make this object is strongly discouraged because it will likely warp at temperatures exceeding ~55 C (~ 130 F), which are common during normal printer operation. This custom cooling fan assembly has been successfully used on my K280 since early 2018 without any issues or problems.
