K280 Build Platform Standoff

A reliable and solid 3D Printable Build Platform/Heated Bed Standoff for the He3D K280 Mega Delta or any other delta 3D printer built with sturdy 20mm slotted extrusions. The design replaces the adjustable spring standoff provided with the K280 kit, which proved untrustworthy in my environment. A threaded M3 hole at the top of the standoff enables easy mounting of the bed using M3 screws. The main benefit of fixed standoffs is that once the printer is calibrated, it will likely remain stable for the rest of its life. My K280 has been in continuous production with these standoffs since the fall of 2017. The only adjustments I had to make since then were minor tweaks to the overall height when switching nozzles, utilizing the “baby step” (micro stepping) software feature. The parts can be easily printed without supports on a modern affordable 3D Printer. They can be printed with various materials, including PETG, ABS, and many other types of heat-resistant printable materials. ABS performs exceptionally well for this application. Alternatively, PETG should work nearly as well, but I have not tested it yet. I strongly advise against using PLA to create this object because during normal 3D printer operation, it will be exposed to high temperatures exceeding ~55 C (~130 F). At such temperatures, PLA is likely to warp and deform.
