The two side slots are slightly tighter for some of those slippery filaments.</li><li><strong>Why is it a triangle? &nbsp;</strong>Triangles are cool!<strong> </strong>No matter what, there will be a locking point facing up.&nbsp;</li><li><strong>Do I need to “lock” filament in the center? &nbsp;</strong>Nope! If you do “lock” the center, it does keep your spool tightly wound, secure for travel, and tight for long term storage. I only use the center locking feature when I know I'm not using that color filament for awhile.</li><li><strong>Should I remove the clip while printing?&nbsp;</strong> Heck NO! I took lots of time designing/sizing/shaping/massaging that center hole. I've been testing this clip “floating” on the spool while printing for weeks before release, it's flawless!</li></ul>
