Bits and pieces come together to build a Yagi for almost any frequency and number of elements. Photos show my 4-element GMRS antenna in action. Each element is crafted from 1/4-inch round aluminum rods, precision-threaded with a die at the end of the driven element. PVC pipe measures out as "1/2 inch" PVC Pipe (outside diameter: .84 inches) holds everything securely in place. Eight thirty-second by three-eighths set screws ensure nothing shifts out of position. Note that these may impact the radiation pattern slightly, but I've since made an adjustment with a custom-designed STL for the equivalent McMaster-Carr screw. Now, I'm relying on printed PLA set screws instead. Element length and spacing were carefully calculated using VK5DJ Yagi Calculator: https://www.vk5dj.com/yagi.html to ensure optimal performance. I successfully printed all components without any supports or rafts (with one exception – the PLA set screw needed to be printed horizontally with added support and 100% infill). A comprehensive Fusion 360 file is included for your reference.
