As part of the Alexandria, VA 18th Century Ship Project, researchers meticulously scan each individual timber in high-definition and craft precise 3D models, which they will use to painstakingly reconstruct the ship. This is timber K1A, one of the key sections of the keel that was skillfully cut into several parts during the excavation process.
