K1 Max Enclosed Sliding Glass Lid
thingiverse
Hi all, I've been looking for a solution for my K1 Max's top. Taking it off, putting it on, the bloody thing should have come with Hinges or something. Anyway long story short, I looked all over the internet and couldn't find anything that I was happy with so decided to design it myself. There were some hinge designs and clip designs but I decided to go with full rails, doing that allows the top to be open for filament change or printing PLA and can be closed for high temp filament without the need for vented risers or unvented risers that still require the lid be manipulated and chance of breakage. My design fits snugly on the existing frame by implementing 4 corners and 4 rails. 2 full corner pieces and 2 half open pieces, 3 full rails and one half rail. With it having the half corners and half slide rails the glass can slide by the open half corner and over the half rail. With my system you can have the top on all the time and have the glass slide to the back to the front and to the side or side to side and front to back, depends on what combination of corners and rails you use. No more lid on, lid off, lol. Thanks and hope you like it.Updated: As per Users reports of the top glass being thicker on new K1 Max shipments, I have therefore added a 3.4mm version to allow the thicker glass to slide more freely.
