K1 Max Broken Bolt Fix
prusaprinters
A while back the bolt broke on my K1 Max cable chain. Creality sent out a replacement carriage but when I found out how much work it takes to change I set about finding a temporary fix. I posted another fix before that was good for printing PLA but when I started printing with higher chamber temperatures I found it came loose. This is my latest version that has been tested at up to 50°C chamber temps. Mine is printed in PETG-CF. The green one in the pic is ABS.I found it best to print this at 45° as shown in the print orientation picture for overall strength and minimal support. This requires the removal of the fan shroud as it clips on around the front to stop it lifing off and provided rigidity. It has been designed around a 3mm heatset insert for the top and a sleeve to reduce the cable chain from the usual 4mm bolt.
