(K)night Stand Miniature

Overview: It's a knight stand, get it?? The Knight Stand is a miniature, fully-functional, medieval-themed night stand. Although it's not actually a full scale night stand, it is large enough to hold smaller items, such as collectibles. The entire model and detailing work was created in Onshape. The stones on the frame were modeled using a vector image of a castle wall, which was converted into DXF in Inkscape and imported into Onshape. Some of the DXF needed to be corrected by hand so it fit on the sides of the frame and could be extruded. The imperfections on the “wooden” planks for the doors and drawer were individually modeled by hand. Printing and Assembly Tips: This will require multiple prints, and I personally used multiple filament colors. Essentially, the frame, doors, and drawer will all need to be printed separately. I used a 0.5mm nozzle to help speed up the print time and modified the layer height for the different parts to maximize details where needed. To assemble the components, simply snap the ball joints on the doors into the appropriate locations on the frame and slide the drawer into the top section of the frame.
