K-Cup Coffee Filter Press for Java Jig
thingiverse
I adore my K-Cup coffee maker, particularly since I can create my own K-Cups using the best results with the Java Jig. However, the filters for it are a bit pricey; thus, to save money, I devised a press for crimping and resizing standard coffee filters for use in the Java Jig. My preferred model is the 3060 due to its steeper angle on the sides. Please share your thoughts or improvements! For detailed instructions and images on how to use this press, continue reading. Remember that a Keurig's pressure is too strong for single-ply coffee filters; therefore, opt for two layers of Mr Coffee style round filters or the funnel style (folded left) for optimal results. To utilize the press, start by placing the coffee filter over the base. Then, push down the wedge-shaped piece in the center, ensuring the filter is pressed evenly. It will align with the teeth on the base. While holding the locked filter, tear away the waste filter towards the middle, and the teeth on the press will assist you. Finally, remove your newly resized filter from the press and enjoy it in your Java Jig!
