K-9 123D Catch

K-9 123D Catch

My first attempt at using 123D Catch on iPad featured "K-9," the robot companion of The Doctor. The model was edited by removing the Z-Axis cut representing the floor. A screenshot from the app showcased the capture, and a comparison image highlighted the original design and its printed version. This project was produced using Mk8 defaults on a Thing-O-Matic. Surprisingly, no support material was required; however, there was slight under-chin droop. The 123D Catch process involved merging 50 images to create the model, and although I learned that newspaper is an ideal base for objects, I used an engineering drawing with lots of text as a substitute.
