JWST James Web Space Telescope wall art mirror
thingiverse
As always with my designs this is not the best of them. This is time and filament optimised, meaning it's floppy and not that easy to assemble and should be done in openSCAD. BOM 18 × 150 mm diameter circumscribed (edge to edge) PMMA hexagons with golden mirror backing 1 mm height. Printing: I've used single top and bottom layer with denser infill ~40% with 3 walls 0.2 mm layer height. With these parameters the whole frame weighs around 220 grams of PLA. 0.2 mm tolerances included. Post printing: I've layed out the frame upside down and hot glued the back locking seams and the nail hanger. Could also use a cardboard or something similar to stiffent up the rear. Not sure if unglued version with only the hexes backing adhesive holding the locking pieces would hold itself.
