A replacement battery for JVC camcorders and cameras that used BN-V408, BN-V408-H, BN-V408U, BN-V408U-B, BN-V408U-H, or BN-V408US batteries can be built with basic DIY skills. Expensive replacement batteries are unnecessary when using the camera as a editing deck, where running off mains is more practical. Two versions of this battery are available, depending on the electrical connections you make. The simplest version requires only two M3 screws to attach wires securely. A better option involves bending a 4mm wide, brass or tinned steel strip into place and soldering it for secure contacts. Your DC supply should be 7.2v with the + terminal marked clearly on the print.
