Just in Case - Filament Hinge
prusaprinters

Decided to share this…. just in case… anyone else was having the same problems.

I had issues with the print in place hinge in the original design so I decided to remix using a piece of filament as the hinge. This also allows you to mix and match colors of the case, lid, and hinge.

It's helpful to use a pair of pliers to slide the filament in depending on your printer's tolerances. The hole is 2mm wide to give clearance for the filament. If you're still having issues, you can always drill the hole out with a 2mm drill bit. To lock the hinge in place, leave a little extra filament sticking out of the holes and use a lighter to heat up and then press down with the side of the lighter. Just be careful you don't get the lighter too close with certain filaments as it can burn the filament and leave burn marks.

Happy printing!
