Jurassic Storm

This render provides a more detailed view than a 2D photo alone can offer but fails to accurately replicate the 3D characteristics of the original fossil and should be considered an approximation at best. I've just completed this piece titled 'Jurassic Storm'. The flatstone nodule features three distinct types of ammonite. From left to right, Asteroceras sp., Promicroceras sp., and Xiphoceras sp. The dimensions for each ammonite are as follows: 8 cm, 8 cm, and 10.5 cm respectively. The matrix measures 48 cm by 36 cm. The original nodule's matrix has been skillfully sculpted to depict the sea where these ammonites once lived. This fossil was discovered in the Jurassic period of Charmouth, Dorset, UK.
