Jurassic Park Cryocan Internals

Here's a design for the internal "dinosaur DNA" holder from Jurassic Park. The original movie prop consisted of an artificial can of Barbasol shaving cream that hid a cooled enclosure made to carry dinosaur embryos. After pulling the internal assembly out of the bottom of the shaving cream can, a gentle twist of the mechanism base would cause the upper assembly (and embryo ampules) to pop up. This design is an attempt to duplicate that same action (with the addition of an internal spring). I did not include a Barbasol can model, the tolerances are too small to effectively 3D print at home, but the internal assembly is scaled to approximately the correct dimensions (and diameter) of an actual Barbasol can. Included in the file pack are pictorial instructions for the assembly. I also have included .STL files to print either one or all ten ampules. To complete the assembly as I intended, you will need two additional items: an approximately 3/4" diameter compression spring cut or stretched to length, and a 2 3/8" diameter rubber O-ring to put around the base. Both pieces can be found at a decent hardware store or home improvement place. A spring can also be made by hand (there are several online guides to make your own, I would recommend Instructables.com). A rubber O-ring can also be ordered from a place like McMaster-Carr: Chemical-Resistant Brown Viton O-Ring, Dash Number 036, is one that will work: https://www.mcmaster.com/#o-rings/=y3z9c5
