This Bedfordshire Jurassic Oxfordian Plesiosaur tail piece likely belongs to the Plesiosaur species cryptoclidus. Exceptional bone preservation, even for this locality, is apparent, with four of the vertebra still in their original undisturbed articulated positions. All bones were discovered together, and one exhibits a healed injury on its surface. A strong wooden board supports the tail, textured with resin and painted for display. The vertebra themselves show no signs of restoration or repair. Measuring 97 cm x 23 cm, the tail vertebra are intact.
