Jupiter 2 from Lost in Space
thingiverse
This is the iconic flying saucer that was home to the Robinson family from Lost in Space. It's a timeless space ship that I simply had to own. Print Settings Printer Brand: MakerBot Printer: MakerBot Replicator 2 Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Resolution: Standard Notes: Be sure to scale up the pieces before printing. I used 800% scaling, as any smaller size might cause issues with some of the smaller parts and details. You will also need to rotate the lowerDeck piece by 180 degrees (flip it upside down). No supports are required. The following parts must be printed multiple times: landingStruct x 3 landingPad x 3 steps x 3 portHole x 2 fusionLight x 11 (print 11 pieces, choosing how many per color) Unfortunately for me, the pieces warped slightly after I applied paint (spray paint). Before painting, the parts fit together very well. I had to add a filler ring to compensate for the gap between the bottom and middle pieces. It actually looks quite good (printed in red translucent), but it isn't part of the original Jupiter 2 design.
