The three antique sculptures were once owned by Nicolaas Rockox (1560-1640), mayor of Antwerp. A close friend of Peter Paul Rubens, Rockox had a portrait-herm drawn for a series of prints featuring ancient authors and philosophers, including one in the middle that showcases Demosthenes, who was later found not to be the subject of the sculpture. The herm actually portrays Anacreon, a renowned poet. Queen Kristina acquired these busts around 1650 and brought them to Stockholm. Photography credit: CC BY-SA 4.0 / Nationalmuseum High-resolution 3D scans of these sculptures were created using an Artec Eva, aiming to produce digital representations that closely mirror the originals. However, these scans should not be seen as exact duplicates due to areas that are inaccessible and other factors that may cause deviations from the original artwork.
