Junction box

Junction box

Hi! Every summer is getting hotter than the last one. My wife recently asked me to install a ceiling fan in our bedroom. The main issue was that the light point wasn't located exactly where I needed it, so I had to slide it 1 meter to get it right. I checked my storage and found only 20mmx40mm cable ducting available. It's not ideal, but it's better than nothing. Unfortunately, the junction boxes I had were either terrible or didn't match what I was looking for. I really didn't feel like going to the local hardware store just to buy a new one that would barely do the job. One day, my wife mentioned her comment about my 3D printer - "To do what?" It was time to show her what it can do! I browsed through Thingiverse and fell in love with the dovetail designs. They're simple, efficient, and perfect for my project. I opened Fusion 360 and started drawing. After 45 minutes, I had the model you see here. I showed it to my wife and explained that it needed to be painted first. Her response was a kiss - no more "To do what?" or "It's easier to buy one." It was just my printer being accepted as a member of our family. The ceiling fan installation went smoothly, and the result is exactly what I expected. My wife is happy. Today, I'm sharing this model with you: The junction box that can directly accept cable ducting up to 20x40mm. It's easy to place (just three screws) and easy to close thanks to the dovetail design. I hope you'll enjoy this model just as much as my wife enjoyed it.
