JumpStart E3D Upgrade

For optimal performance, print with MatterHackers PRO Series ABS. This kit is designed to upgrade your JumpStart printer by installing an E3D hot end and extruder. We highly recommend using the E3D Lite6 hot end and Titan extruder for best results. You could also use a v6 hot end, but it would be a waste of its high-temperature capabilities since the JumpStart does not have a heated bed. Any other NEMA 17 motor-compatible extruder will work as well. This upgrade converts your printer to a bowden setup by moving the extruder from the X carriage and bolting it to the back of the printer. This reduces weight on the carriage, making the entire printer faster and more stable. The layer cooling fan is eliminated as part of this upgrade since it didn't provide significant benefits in the first place. We suggest using a small desk fan pointed directly at the printer for improved airflow. Downloads: NEMA 17 Hole Template Firmware Files Parts: E3D Lite6 12V Bowden Hot End E3D Titan Extruder NEMA 17 Stepper Motor (must be no more than 40 mm long, as original extruder motor shaft is too short) Printed Pieces: 3 x M3 Threaded Inserts 2 x M3x16 screws 1 x M3x18 screw 1 x M3x6 screw Instructions: Print mounting pieces and install heat set inserts in them. Assemble the hot end. Remove original extruder from X carriage and disconnect the ribbon cable. Screw on mounting piece, hot end, and clamp to X carriage. Connect wires from E3D hot end to motherboard. Some wires may need to be extended. Use hole template to drill holes on back of case for Titan extruder (we recommend placing it on the back left side, near the wiring channel). Assemble the Titan onto the printer with the extruder on the back and stepper motor inside. Flash modified firmware using Arduino 1.0.6 (later versions will not work).
