Jumper Cable jaws
thingiverse
I have a set of jumper cables, but one of the plastic jaws has broken off. Since these parts are fairly common, I assumed there would be a model available for download. Unfortunately, after searching, I couldn't find one that fit my needs, so I decided to design and print my own replacement part. As the printer is currently producing the new jaw, I'll post photos once it's complete. Keep in mind that you will still need to retrieve the metal components from the original jaws and possibly drill out a rivet to release them. A bolt may also be required to secure the new teeth in place. When printing this part, I oriented it with the outer edge facing down, which resulted in a good grip. In my pictures, you can see that I took a shortcut by leaving the interface between the supports rough instead of removing it completely. This approach worked well for me, but feel free to use thicker walls and sand the surface if you prefer a smoother finish. For this particular print job, I wasn't concerned with achieving a high-quality finish.
