Jumbo Machinder In-Shoulder Shooter
thingiverse
This is a custom-printed elbow shooter accessory for the iconic Shogun Warriors toys from the late 1970s. The design features an innovative in-shoulder shooter mechanism, which was originally used with Godzilla, Grendizer, and the Popy version of Gaiking. Additional parts required for assembly are not shown in the accompanying photos, but include: * 4-40 ultrasonic (heat) inserts * 4-40 x 3/8 panhead screws * A spring for the push button, which can be sourced from MSC Industrial Supply using part numbers 06810238 or 06810253 (.18 x .016 x .375 or .625) * A spring for launching the fist, which can also be obtained from MSC Industrial Supply (part number 03308954: .85 x .054 x 2) or omitted altogether for a purely aesthetic effect The main shooting housings were printed vertically to ensure stability and strength, while the push button was printed horizontally as per its mounting orientation, visible in the provided photos. Assembly can be simplified by using adhesive tape or super glue to hold the two parts together, rather than relying on screws. However, it's essential not to attach the button until the part is securely positioned within the toy. Print settings used for this project include a layer height of 0.2mm and four bottom, top, and perimeter layers for added durability. PLA filament was employed due to its excellent print quality and ease of use. The custom model was designed using Fusion 360 software.
