Julita Monastery, Sweden, North trench.
sketchfab
This image captures the north trench from a research excavation conducted in 2016 at the Julita Monastery site. Initially unknown, its dating remains uncertain. While potentially part of the monastery itself, the masonry suggests an older construction era, possibly spanning the 15th and 16th centuries. Founded in 1180, the monastery ceased operations by 1527. The structure's walls reveal significant damage, implying that bricks were reused over time. This photograph was created from a composite of 160 images, processed by Johan Stenvall in his Linköping office.
