This exquisite medieval jug boasts an intricately woven handle and ornate incisions that have captivated historians for generations. In 1878, a diligent assistant gravedigger made the remarkable discovery of this artifact while excavating a grave in the hallowed grounds of St Andrews Cathedral. With his shovel, he inadvertently shattered the jug, but fortunately, it was later meticulously restored to its former glory.
