The artifact stands at 296 x 167 x 159 mm, crafted from a bronze alloy in Eastern Iran or Afghanistan between the 11th to mid-12th centuries. A Bumiller Collection treasure, this engraved cylindrical jug boasts an elevated beak-shaped spout and a medallion prominently positioned on its body. Arabic script adorns the ribbon wrapping around the shoulder and neck of the vessel, bearing blessings that add to its historical significance. Students from the University of Bamberg's Digitale Denkmaltechnologien Masters programme brought this piece into focus using an Artec Spider structured light scanner during their 2020 practical week. The scan was refined in Artec Studio with additional processing in Geomagic Wrap, allowing for a detailed digital representation of the jug.
